You’ve driven past this pub before, always thinking that you need to stop in.

Finally you do.

There’s a buzz, but the televisions are dark, off.  The jukebox is unplugged. No karaoke.  No DJ.  Still, there is a buzz.

And it hits you.

You’ve heard that this can happen, that when given an opportunity and a bit of silence people might actually talk to each other.  And here it is, proof.  In the corner.  At the bar.  Conversations.  Some animated, some quiet.  And everyone expressing an idea, and opinion, right or wrong.

And at the bar you get a beer, a cold beer, a good beer.  And you listen as arguments in the true sense of the word play out, reasoned and informed.  Good discourse, honest and open.

This is our pub.  We like good conversation.  And we’re modeling our podcasts after the type of discourse you might encounter in a good pub, when the blare of societies amusment machines is removed from the equation.  A conversation you’d like to sneak up on and listen to.

Now the danger in such discourse, in having an idea or opinion ist that you might be wrong.  But it’s better to be wrong in an attempt to connect that to sit idle, or at least that’s our opinion.

Yes, we call this The Failure Option.
